Weekly Weigh In

I went to my weekly weigh in last night.
Drum Roll...........
I lost 5 lbs!
Woot Woot!!
So, that makes me down to 230.2.
I am proud.
I wish I could have a 5 lb week every week, but I know that is not going to happen.
But I will keep on keeping on.

If you are on Weight Watchers, how much you do this week?

I Joined Weight Watchers

Back in October, I thought about joining Weight Watchers.  However, I was afraid of failure because of the upcoming holidays.  So, I decided to wait until the the holidays were over.  Now that the holidays are over, as of two days ago, I am happy to say that I joined Weight Watchers last night.  I went to the meeting, weighed in, got all the information and am scared to death exited to start.

With this blog being my weight loss journey, I am going to be open and honest about my triumphs and struggles.  The first struggle is my weigh in.  So, here goes.  My starting weight is......235.2.  YIKES!!!
I can't believe I weigh that much.  If you remember back in my post in November, I weighed 226.  So, I did gain quite a bit of weight during the holidays.  Oh well, I am just going to get out there and do this and get this weight off!

Weight Watchers goes by a daily PointsPlus system.  They give you a target number to stay under and every food has a PointPlus assigned to it.  Therefore, instead of counting calories, fat grams, carbs, etc., you counts points and stay under your given target.  My PointsPlus Target at this time is 34.  So, as long as I stay under 34 points, I should lose weight.  To me, that is a huge number.  I should be able to stay under that number.  No, I WILL stay under that number.  Of course, this number goes down as your weight goes down.

I think what I will do, instead of boring you with what I eat everyday, is I will post a weekly recap of the points that I ate each day.  I feel this will also give me some feedback each week on why I lost or gained weight.

If you are a Weight Watchers member, I would love to hear from you.

Plus 3 Pounds

Okay, so I weighed myself this morning. I gained 3 freakin' pounds since Monday! What tha?? I don't get it. I mean, I haven't been eating lettuce and carrots for 4 days, but I haven't been eating pounds of lard either.....geez, gaining 3 pounds in 4 days is not funny! This is how it has been going for the past nine months. In February, I weighed 166. I went to Louisville with my best friend and her sisters and mom for a girls weekend back then. I gained 4 pounds just that weekend! If you read my first post, you know that I was on a low carb/high protein diet last year. I lost about 35 pounds in about 5 months and maintained that weight loss for a little while. I still needed to lose about 25 more pounds, but I never did. I only gained and have kept gaining. I now weigh 229 pounds. I am definitely going to go on a diet. The only thing is I do not want to be disappointed in myself when I fail miserably during the holidays, so I am going to go all hung ho after the beginning of the year. I have bought a food/exercise journal. I will blog about that soon. I have my treadmill all ready in the garage. I am getting everything all prepared so that after the holidays, I can start fresh and not have anything standing in my way. I know some of you might think, "Why not start now? You will be that much far ahead than waiting until January." Like I said before, with the holidays, I know I will be eating some bad foods, so I am afraid of starting a diet only to feel like a failure if I eat bad on Thanksgiving and Christmas. I feel like once January gets here, it will be a new year and it will help give me the mind set of a new beginning. I feel I will have greater success that way.
